Wet Your Whistle with Whistle Pig Rye and a Special Dinner

Whistle Pig Straight Rye Whiskey has rightfully earned a cult status among whiskey lovers across the US, but until recently was not available in the Nashville market. Well, that’s finally changed!

Whistle Pig is a 100-proof, straight rye whiskey, aged for at least ten years through a unique double-barrel process at the distillery in Shoreham, Vermont. Owner Raj Bhakta and Master Distiller Dave Pickerell have created a product that “embodies the perfect combination of proof, purity, and age — hitting the sweet spot in all three categories,” and you should be looking out for it on liquor store and bar shelves. If you see it, buy it!

To celebrate the arrival to Nashville, Whistle Pig is throwing a launch party dinner/tasting at The Farm House downtown on Tuesday April 22. Bhakta and Pickerell will be in attendance, and Farm House chef Trey Cioccia has planed a four-course dinner to pair with Whistle Pig products and cocktails. (We’ve even heard that there may be an opportunity to taste The Boss Hog, and extremely rare 12-year old barrel-street rye product that you probably won’t find anywhere else in the state.)

Since The Farm House was already planning to participate in the Dining Out for Life charity event that evening, they have graciously set aside their private dining room for the event and will donate a portion of the dinner’s proceeds to Nashville Cares.

Here is the menu and the details of the dinner:

Course 1

two-year aged ham over red fife toast topped with smoked blueberries and house made mustard and garnished with shaved, house cured egg yolks

Course 2

pickled shrimp over a salad of pea tendrils, radicchio, blood orange and green tomato with cheese curds and dehydrated olive

Course 3

roasted lamb loin over house made ricotta, gnocchi with a spring pea and mushroom ragout

Dessert
TN stack cake
ode to the mint julep

Dinner will begin with a cocktail at 6:30 and service start before 7, there will be a tasting of Whistle Pig with each course and a specialty cocktail with dessert.

Tickets are $50 + applicable tax and 20% gratuity.

Please call the restaurant or email: info@thefarmhousetn.com to guarantee your seat.

Hope to see you there!
